Staff Member: Virginia Thiele
I have been Parish Secretary since 1999 (18 years), having been Conference Coordinator at George Williams College the previous 13 years. I had just moved to Delavan in June, 1999, from Allens Grove where my children were raised, and the St. Andrew position became available that summer (now I can walk to work!). I grew up in Janesville, went to school at UW-Madison & graduated with a degree in Secondary Education, Natural Sciences, & taught Science & Math at a junior high school in Beloit until my first child was born. I was fortunate to be a stay-at-home mom with my 4 children until they were all in school, then I worked part-time as St. Andrew's Religious Ed. coordinator for several years and also taught various levels of CCD classes, besides being a Cub Scout den mother, Brownie leader, Picture Lady, PTA parent, etc, etc. Now I love to travel, garden, sing, dance (taught clogging and line dancing for over 20 years), participate in community theater, and attend concerts & plays. I have been truly blessed by God to be able to serve our parish, and hope to continue for several more years.
