First Reconciliation & First Communion

First Reconciliation and First Communion can be celebrated as early as 2nd grade if they attended our Wisdom Wednesday/Weekend faith formation classes as 1st grades. (Two consecutive years in a row, 1st grade, and 2nd grade).

2nd-8th graders who are seeking First Reconciliation and First Communion and joining us for the first time this year have two options:

  • Option 1
Attend schedule classes and Mass on Sunday for two consecutive years and celebrate first communion in May 2028
  • Option 2
Attend scheduled classes and Mass on Sundays and on Wednesdays all year and possibly celebrate First Communion in May 2027

Confirmation

Confirmation can be celebrated as early as junior year in high school after at least two consecutive years of preparation. There is a two-year class preparation requirement for teenagers preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Students may enroll for our year one preparation when they are sophomores or juniors in high school. Confirmation is celebrated at the end of the second year of preparation as a junior or senior. Attendance and retreat during year two is required.

There is no one-year Confirmation program for seniors in high school. Seniors who complete year one of high school preparation will be responsible for finding a second-year program. St. Andrew and St. Patrick offers a program for adults and that could count as year two if you choose to finish preparation here. Adults and teenagers have two separate programs.

ALL K-12th graders ARE WELCOME AT OUR FAITH FORMATION CLASSES.
